Wipro technologies - Honest reviews || Should you join Wipro or not?

I worked with Wipro Technologies for more than 5 years and today I am gonna share you my honest opinion on the life inside Wipro Technologies. For those who do not know what Wipro Technologies is, it is a multinational company (MNC) mainly in IT sector but also has diversified itself in other fields. Few products of Wipro are: Santoor soap, Yardley deodorant, Chandrika Soap, Enchanteur body mist and lot more. Few brands you may be aware of such as Santoor, Yardley but there are lot which you may not be aware of.

Here we will cover few topics and will provide detailed reviews and rating on that particular topic for Wipro. As we all know, every rose has a thorn so there will be few positive and negative points which we will cover in this article:

Work life balance

Work life balance inside Wipro Technologies is perfect. I would rate it 9 out of 10. If you need a company where you want to enjoy working along with fulfilling your other desires, this company is made for you. There are very few projects inside Wipro where there may be certain work load but company is very strict in it's policies so no manager can go against the policies and make you work for long hours. These projects will only have work load only for a certain period of time like during production. Moreover, you are free to change the project allocated to you within the company by searching available projects in the company portal website.

Working environment

Working environment is very friendly. You can also check on glassdoor website where they provide reviews of each and every company but here I will be giving you the honest review of this company as I have worked here for a very long time. The company has very nice work environment where a person needs to work from 9am to 5 pm i.e. 8 hours a day. You will also have lunch break in-between and also have small tea breaks whenever required during the day. There are certain projects where timings are according to other country zone such as US time or European timings but employee will be informed about it before he/she will join that project. The employee has full control of weather to join that particular project or not because of shift timings. You will also be paid extra amount if you work in shift hours depending on company policies. I would rate working environment as 9 out of 10 for Wipro Technologies.

Work pressure

There is very less work pressure in most of the projects but it is dependent on that particular project. As mentioned earlier, work pressure is totally project specific but overall it is very less. I would like to rate work pressure as 8 out of 10 for Wipro

Career Growth

There is a huge scope of career growth in Wipro. You can get an overview of the same from my example. I was electronics and communication engineer. I was trained in java technology in wipro. I was not very good at it so I decided to switch to a new technology. Wipro trained me again in mean stack development where I learnt new skills such as Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. It was 3 months course which costed a lot to Wipro Digital (digital business unit of Wipro Ltd) and I gained a lot of knowledge. Wipro even provided me free Udemy access, an online learning website which is usually paid but Wipro gave me free access to learn any course from there. I learnt a lot from there and developed my skills.

So yes, career growth wise, Wipro is very good, you will learn and grow. I will rate 9 out of 10 for career growth

Increments

Frankly saying, Wipro do provide increments but you may or may not get satisfied with that. Decent hikes are provided to employees depending on their performance but as we all know, there are a few who never gets satisfied with what is paid to them. Not only in Wipro, but in most of the MNC's you will find that internal hikes are provided but you cannot compare them with the hikes provided by startups because the work load and pressure in start ups is way more than the work load in MNC's

Other important aspects

There is a digital wing inside Wipro called Wipro Digital. It uses latest tech stack and helps a lot for Career Growth. Many companies have a digital wing such as TCS also has it's digital wing.

Wipro vs start up company

If you are a fresher and your intent is to learn more and more without caring about work load or pressure or job security, then you should opt for start ups but if you want to have a constant steady growth, learn new things and work on real life projects with coding standards and good client, do not want much pressure, have job security and chances of going onsite which is any foreign country, then you must opt for Wipro

Overall rating

To conclude, i would like to mention that Wipro is a very good company to work with, learn new things, with all the benefits I mentioned in this article. So if you are planning to join Wipro Ltd in IT field, just consider this article and make your choice
